Divine Dissatisfaction

Do you ever find yourself trying to hold something together that just won't stay together? Like the pieces of your life, or a relationship, or a job? These times can be frustrating, draining and painful. Yet this very agitation is a positive signal warning of the time to adjust your life in some way. I have been frustrated many-a-time and tried to think positively about a situation, only to realize that the frustration itself is the blessing because it is leading me to a new solution, a new direction, a new way of seeing if I would only feel the frustration and ride the wave. We get stuck in surviving when we resist the signals within us for change and keep making choices that have no power to move us.

Our bodies work similarly. Pain, restlessness, weight gain, tension, illness, stress can all be warning signals that something needs to change and we ignore them to our detriment. They are signals of communication that remind us our body, our mind and our spirit are not disconnected entities, but instead all part of a whole that is you, that is me.

Your body may give you signals that it is time to explore new horizons in your work when you are unable to sleep at night or come to dread going to a situation in your life. You may find yourself fatigued and dragging as you resist change or making a difficult decision. What seems like a dire or negative situation may have a very beneficial outcome.

Humans tend to resist change and often need assistance or a Divine "shove" to get us to listen to what we are feeling. We are not meant to be blown and tossed by every emotion or even to analyze them endlessly. Yet our emotions and feelings are our teachers that help us understand ourselves, provide signals toward needed change, or warnings of situations to stay away from. Listen! Trust yourself and the still small voice within. It is not out to sabotage you, but is always, always working to your benefit. The more you listen, the stronger that voice becomes.

If you are experiencing frustrations, dissatisfaction with some area of your life--or all areas!--take some time to get quiet and listen. Ask yourself, what are my frustrations? What is this situation trying to teach me? The answers are not locked away in a garage somewhere. They are accessible to you and within you. And don't feel like you have to be altruistically positive. Feel what you really feel. Quite often, the most healing thing is to BE depressed, be frustrated, cry. Feel it. Not because you want to get stuck there, but if you are willing to feel it, it has no power over you. There is a message in it.

The resistance we have to our emotions is more detrimental than the emotions themselves.

Write down some questions for yourself or just write some thoughts to sort them out. Take time to listen to the Divine, to yourself and trust what comes to you. You never see the whole of a path at once. You only see what is in front of you and is yours to manage at that moment. Thank goodness, because each moment has plenty to manage!

This is the beginning of thriving! By learning to listen to the wisdom of your dissatisfaction, which is a form of surrender, you actually develop greater skills for change and directing your growth. Listen to the dissatisfaction you feel in your life. Use EFT to address the stress and frustration with the situation. Then re-evaluate. Do you still feel dissatisfaction with the situation even after the frustration or desperation is clear? Or has your perspective changed? The power contained within the dissatisfaction is yours to claim and use for transformation.
